In-Studio Etiquette

Please wear clean and comfortable athletic wear that you can move freely in. For women, sweatpants or leggings and a fitted comfortable top. For men, sweatpants or workout shorts and a t-shirt. Please refrain from wearing overly potent perfumes and oils as they can be distracting to the experience of other clients in our intimate space.

Socks are required. Socks with a sticky bottom, like Toesox, are recommended. We sell these grip socks at the studio. Grip socks are preferable so that there is less potential for slippage and better balance.

The studio is located in the Bank of the West shopping center in El Cerrito with ample parking spaces available free of cost.

If you are new, please come 5-10 minutes early to get acquainted with the studio and introduce yourself to your teacher. All other clients should arrive to class 3-5 minutes before the start of the session to take off shoes and get settled in.

Classes are 45 minutes in length. Private Pilates and Stretch Therapy Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

No - Unfortunately we do not provide childcare.

We do not have showers located in the studio, but we do have a large bathroom with select amenities to help you freshen up.

We provide cubbies for you to store your items. We are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
On your Movement Practice

Hydration is key to daily life, but especially prior to taking an exercise class or having Fascial Stretch Therapy. Please come to class hydrated and ready to move. Please silence cell phones.

If you have never done Pilates we recommend you schedule a private session first. This is the best way to ensure you understand how to use the equipment as well as get tailored information regarding alignment, movement and form. If you prefer to go straight into class, it is required that you join a Foundations, or Level 1 class.

If you have an existing injury or a past injury that still bothers you or flares up regularly please inform us of the details by sending an email to hello@movewithstudio.com or call us at: 510-232-4885. We will do our best to accommodate you in classes, but it may be recommended that you come in for a private session first.

If you are pregnant and new to the studio we require a doctor’s clearance before you join classes or sessions, and recommend that you start with private sessions first. Those who have been coming to Pilates at Move With Studio can continue on with their regular sessions and should ask instructors for modifications through the different stages of the pregnancy. It is recommended that private sessions be supplemented so that you get tailored instruction through each trimester.

3 times per week is the ideal recommendation to see the best results in the shortest amount of time. If you are adding Pilates into an already existing exercise regimen 1-2 times per week is also effective. If you are only doing Pilates we also recommend adding in any form of cardiovascular exercise such as walking, running or spinning.

We use the Arketa booking system. You can book via the 'Schedule' link on our website (which links to the Arketa system). Once you’re logged in you can make purchases, book, waitlist, reschedule or cancel your classes as well as view your account details, schedule, and history.

Cancellations or any modifications to private, duet or stretch therapy sessions can be completed via your online Arketa account or an email can be sent to the studio at hello@movewithstudio.com. All reformer class cancellations need to be managed by the client via Arketa Online.
Classes and sessions canceled within the 24-hour period will be considered a late cancel and clients will lose their class or session.
No Show Policy: There is a $10 no show fee for classes and $15 no show fee for private appointments.
If you cannot make a class or appointment and do not want to be charged the no show fee, please late cancel yourself via Arketa Online so others might be able to reserve your spot. If you do not late cancel you will lose your class/session and be subject to the no show fee.

There is no limit on the amount of waitlists you may join or the amount of students who can be added to a waitlist. However, a class credit will be deducted from your membership or class package for every waitlist you join. If you are not added to a class from the waitlist, the class credit will be automatically returned to your membership or package after the class begins. Once added to a waitlist you will be able to see your place in line from your booking screen. The waitlist closes 8 hours prior to the start of class, if a spot opens up before it closes the first client on the waitlist will be automatically moved into the class and will receive an automated email that they were added.
Regardless of confirmation of attendance or not, if one receives an email or text message it means they have been added to the class. The 24 hour early cancellation window still applies even if you were moved from the waitlist into the class.
Move With Studio is not responsible for unseen emails or text messages and each client is responsible for managing their waitlist sign-ups. Clients automatically confirm they are able to take the class because they signed up for the waitlist. If at any point you can no longer make that class, we recommend taking yourself off the waitlist outside of the 8 hour window to avoid being automatically added and the 24 hour cancellation window to avoid being penalized. This allows the next person on the waitlist to have a chance at being in class.
If a spot opens up after the waitlist closes (within 8 hours of the class), those who are on the waitlist will not be automatically added to the class, and anyone is able to sign up for the open spot.
* We always recommend checking the schedule the night before or morning of classes as we often times have late cancelations and space in each class.
* Make sure your Arketa account is set to receive all emails and notifications from Move With Studio. This can be managed in your Arketa account under “Preferences” in your profile.
Membership FAQs

Unfortunately unused classes do not roll over into future months and need to be used within each billing cycle.

You can purchase class packages to supplement additional classes outside of the 4 or 8 in each membership. Those on the Move With Ease Membership receive a 10% discount on a single reformer class or a 5 pack of reformer classes. Those on Move With Abundance receive 10% off all services and packages. These packages have the normal 6 month expiration and can roll into future months with you. As a rule of thumb, always make sure to use your membership classes when registering for classes first, then use your class packs to for additional classes or adding yourself to the waitlist.

You are allowed to pause your membership if you will be away from the studio for 2 weeks or more. Pauses under 2 weeks are not accepted. Please email us 1 week before your leave so we can make appropriate changes to your subscription.

Yes! A perk of your membership is that you can pre-register yourself for future classes outside of your current month before your are billed for them.

You are billed monthly, so if you sign up on the 15th, you will be billed the following months on the 15th.

A perk of your membership is that you get a full 4 weeks of schedule to book, whereas those who book only with class packs get 2 weeks. If you are looking at the schedule on a Monday, it will only show 4 weeks Monday to Monday. The same for Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.

You can upgrade your membership from Ease to Abundance at any time. Please send us an email to hello@movewithstudio.com to make your request and we will take care of the upgrade for you.

Your membership is a contract for 3 months, then you are welcome to cancel your membership at any time after the 3 month period is over. We do require 1 month notice via email to hello@movewithstudio.com to cancel your membership.
Stretch Therapy FAQs

Please come as hydrated as possible. Consuming at least half of your weight in ounces of water per day is necessary to keep your joints lubricated. Drinking water or consuming water with electrolytes before a session will help enhance the results of the session.

All Stretch Therapy appointments will be offered solely in the Annex. Having a quiet, private space is a major upgrade to the Stretch Therapy experience for all clients. It creates an environment where each individual can fully relax into their body, allow their nervous system to drop down, and receive the stretch in the most restorative way.

Please wear comfortable clothes, i.e, t-shirt and sweatpants or leggings. If you are coming from a workout please change into a fresh set of clothes. Our therapists should be able to move your legs and your arms without restriction.

No oils or lotions are used during stretch therapy.

You can go about your normal day after a session, but we recommend drinking plenty of water to flush out toxins, similar to recommendations after a massage. Rest is also beneficial, but not necessary after getting stretch therapy.

You can workout before or after a fascial stretch therapy session. Our recommendation is to work out first then stretch after.

Your stretch session should be pain free. There will be moments during the session where you will feel a deep stretch, but it should not be painful. Please notify your therapist if you are feeling any pain.

Move With Studio Terms And Conditions
Cancellations
Move With Studio’s has a 24-hour cancellation policy.
Early cancellations are outside the 24-hour window of the start time of a class or a session. Clients will have their account credited with the class or session when this occurs
Late cancellations are within the 24-hour window of the start time of a class or a session. Clients will be charged the full price of a single class or session, or have a credit deducted from their account when this occurs.
Cancellations or any modifications to private, duet or stretch therapy sessions can be completed via your Arketa Dashboard or an email can be sent to the studio at hello@movewithstudio.com
All reformer class cancellations need to be managed by the client via their Arketa Dashboard.
No Show Policy: There is a $10 no show fee for classes and $15 no show fee for private appointments. If you cannot make a class or appointment and do not want to be charged the no show fee, please late cancel yourself via Arketa so others might be able to reserve your spot. If you do not late cancel you will lose your class/session and be subject to the no show fee.
All clients when signing up and/or making purchases understand the terms and conditions of Move With Studio’s Cancellation and No Show Policy.
Expirations + Refunds
All clients understand that regularly priced Group Reformer Classes, Private, Duet and Fascia Stretch Therapy packages have an expiration date of 6 months and that New Client Specials have a 6-week expiration from the date of purchase.
All clients understand that Move With Studio does not offer extensions on expiration dates, and expired packages cannot be reinstated.
All clients understand all sales are final and Move With Studio does not offer refunds.
Waitlist Policy

Membership Terms
3 month contract that auto-renews every month.
Move With Studio requires 1 month notice via email for membership cancellation after the initial 3 months of contract. Each monthly payment is nonrefundable.
If classes are not used within the month time frame they do not roll over into the next month.
Membership is nontransferable or shareable.
You can upgrade your membership at any time, Email hello@movewithstudio.com to request an upgrade.
Schedule and instructor may be subject to change without notice.
If you need to pause your membership please email hello@movewithstudio.com to make your request. Pauses under 2 weeks are not accepted.
