20 years after her first class, Rachel still loves how Pilates makes her feel: strong, centered and present in the body. It’s empowered her to adapt and thrive from professional dancer, to journalist, to busy mom. As a teacher, learning is a two-way street for Rachel as she partners with students to discover new, liberating ways to experience their bodies. Her philosophy is to acknowledge everyone as they are - with unique gifts and challenges. She sees injuries and limitations not as roadblocks but rather as puzzles to be explored with courage and compassion. In addition to the Pilates Method, her movement tools include props, self-massage, imagery, somatic movement, chi gong, and laughter. Yes, laughter! Exercise should be fun and joyful. Rachel loves to work with students at every level: newbies, folks wanting to regain strength after injury, and Pilates veterans looking to go to the next level.
